HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED DURING THE TIME OF FAILURE?

“Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again.” Richard Brenson.

Success without tasting failure is like a flower without a fragrance. Preparing for UPSC and doesn’t fail is a very rare thing. One has to pass through many immolation pyres to get embossed like a nosegay and tagged as an IAS officer. Every stage of a UPSC civil services examination is literally full of challenges and failure at any stage is an obvious thing. A real aspirant always prepares for the best but at the same time makes himself ready for the worst too. There is a famous quote from Aziz Dehlvi, “The brave those who ride high only fall in the battle, what will those pygmies fall who crawl on their knees!

Failure is the part and parcel of life. Those who try, who work harder, who endeavour and strive with great diligence, and who do everything possible to reach the higher echelons may fail to get the desired results. But that is not the end of the world, life is beyond that and failure adds meaning and value to success. Endow yourself with the doses of passion and get up once again to prove your mettle. Repeat what you have done, make corrections, and launch yourself in a new shuttle, nobody is going to stop you from attaining the greater success you truly deserve. Success is more fructus and enjoyable after facing failures.

Here are some powerful tips to stay motivated during a time of failure in UPSC.

  1. Never compare yourself with others. Comparing yourself with others will have a negative impact on your own self-motivation.

  2. Focus on your strengths and identify your weaknesses and untiringly work on them to get a better version of yourself.

  3. Don’t isolate yourself, make some good friends and spend some quality time with them. Talk to your family and dearer ones, there is no one better than your family who can help you stay motivated.

  4. Read success stories of the UPSC toppers or watch videos to boost yourself.

  5. Learn your lessons from the failures, never repeat your wrongs, make the corrections and move forward.

  6. Optimize your time and eradicate the habits that kill your time, and impact your studies and productivity.

  7. Be proactive and anticipate the amplitude of the situation before that befalls or surrounds you. Make your decisions at the right time and motivate yourself to give your best.

  8. Review your progress and note down everything. Give yourself the targets and after every successful target, reward yourself.

  9. Write down your emotions, and passions, and give a psychological lift to your brain by conditioning like you are a successful person and you have cracked an IAS exam and are now posted as a DM. of your district.

  10. Meditate and exercise daily and make it a routine, because a healthy body is necessary for a healthy brain and soul.

  11. Follow your hobbies, make sure you didn’t miss your hobbies, watch your favourite shows, enjoy every moment, and stay focussed on your goal.

Recognizing wild potential within you as nothing extraneous can help you to get motivated for longer durations. Self-motivation doesn't come from external forces, rather you have to galvanize it within your own domain. You are the sole proprietor of your soul, you can mould it to any form you want, just focus on your inner powers and do whatever you wish.
